Maundy Thursday 6th April
10am Morning Prayer at St Mary’s
8pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper at St Mary’s. On the night before He died, Jesus had supper with His disciples, washes their feet and gives them a new commandment. We follow His commandment to take bread and wine in memory of Him. After Mass, we pray and the Chancel will have become like the Garden of Gethsemane. Here we pray silently, coming and going as need be, in the presence of Sacrament of Christ’s Body and Blood. Compline at 11.45pm.
Good Friday 7th April
10am Morning Prayer at St Mary’s
On this day, we gather to thank Jesus for dying for us. He was innocent, we the guilty, yet He suffered for us. The Solemn Liturgy is how we worship God on this day and it is done twice so we can each attend it.
12noon Stations of the Cross at St Mary’s
1pm Solemn Liturgy at St Mary’s
6pm Solemn Liturgy at Good Shepherd
Holy Saturday 8th April
10am Morning Prayer at St Mary’s
8pm Solemn Mass of the Easter Vigil. We begin outside St Mary’s lighting the Easter fire, from which the Easter Candle is lit. This is processed into a dark church as the Resurrection of Christ is proclaimed.
Easter Sunday 9th
There are three Masses today so we can celebrate with joy the Resurrection of Jesus and the new life offered to everyone.
